TBR For February 2019

Happy Monday everyone! I apologize for taking a mini hiatus last week, but between work and crazy weather, I wasn’t much in the mood for blogging or reading. Buuuut I’m back on my blogging game and I have great news; I finished my first book of 2019! I’m going to cheat and include it in this list, but it feels sooooo nice to finally have a book under my belt for this year. (I’m dragging my feet with Kingdom of Ash,  I don’t want the series to end.)

I’m keeping my TBR short and sweet this month with very little pressure to stick to it. These are just some books that sound good at the moment, and a lot of people have probably already read. (I’m finally emerging from out under the rock where I’ve been hiding.)

Without further ado, let’s jump into the list!

  1. Cruel Prince – Holly Black
  2. King of Scars – Leigh Bardugo
  3. Children of Blood & Bone – Tomi Adeyemi
  4. Kingdom of Ash – Sarah J. Maas
  5. What If It’s US – Adam Silvera & Beck Albertali

YOU GUYS, I finally read Cruel Prince! I love that it was a quick and easy read compared to the 992-page book I’m pushing myself to finish (more from being a chicken than not liking it). I can’t decide if I want to jump into King of Scars or finish up Kingdom of Ash. It’s been forever since I’ve read multiple books at once, and I feel like both of those deserve my undivided attention, you know? lol

What’s on your TBR for this month? Are you keeping it short and sweet, or going for an ambitious list? (I just realized that if I read all of these, I’m way ahead on my GR challenge for the year.)

I still haven’t started reading it. I’m in the middle of reading Kingdom of Ash and Children of Blood & Bone. Don’t know I want to add a third to that mix. Eek.

What did you think of Cruel Prince? I enjoyed it, but can understand why it is controversial.
Also, I really want to read King of Scars, I have just finished rereading the Grisha series so Nikolai’s story is fresh in my mind (I just love him!)

Hmmm that’s a good question. I was going to write a review for it, but I honestly don’t have much to say. It was good, it held my attention, and I stayed up way too late to finish it, but after all the hype surrounding it, I was underwhelmed. I definitely plan on contiuing the series (just waiting on the book from the library).
Oooh yay! I need to start King of Scars. I love Nikolai so much. He was my favorite character in the Grisha trilogy.

I just happened upon Wicked King at my library last week! It was good, I’ve never been a big fan of Holly Black’s version of the fae, too dark for me. There were some interesting moments and I definitely preferred it to Cruel Prince though.
